Laura Mercier Crème Brûlée Collection

I find it hard to conceal that Laura Mercier is one of my favorite brands. Availability and prices deserve to be better, but in many cases, it is worth it. In addition to high-quality decorative cosmetics, Laura Mercier offers skincare and bath lines. I used not to care so much for body products, but could not get past the scented goodies. Deсadent philosophy of luxury and indulging yourself is very close to me, and besides, I think it’s in her bath lines that Mercier enjoys all her French-iness, as compared with the rather sleek «Americanized» make up. As of the moment, Laura Mercier offers the following collections for the bathroom (bath and shower products, perfume, and hand cream):

Almond Coconut Milk

Crème Brûlée

Crème de Pistache

Fresh Fig

Verbena Infusion

Tarte Au Citron

Tea Menthe Citron

I want to try them all of these tasty names! The question is, what to buy. Scrub — because it’s needed? Hand cream or body – for sweet dreams? Eau de toilette for the collection? Is it worth it then? As you’ll soon see, my  impressions of the scent of different products in line turned out to be different. In this post you read my reviews of three products in a series of Crème Brûlée — shower gel, body scrub and perfume.

Crème Brûlée Crème Body Wash

This one is a good foaming and long lasting enough. In terms of flavor it’s not as exciting comparing to the scrub, and so I probably will not buy it again, despite the fact that I used the bottle to the end. Unfortunately, this happens quite often. Just remembering my disappointment from shower gel Phylosikos by Dyptique! In the case of Crème Brûlée is not so bad, but still I like to scrub more. As declared by the manufacturer, the wash is gentle and suitable for use every day.

Crème Brûlée Sugar Scrub

My favorite! It seems to me the scrub much better reveals the essence of gourmet line, probably, because of the texture, and because of the packaging. Actually, with this scrub did begin my acquaintance with the Crème Brûlée line. It’s his “fault” that I bought a gel and a perfume. It is indescribably desirable product! I want to smear it on myself and the rest I want to eat. Liqueur and caramel are so good! With regard to functional qualities, the sugar particles could be in larger quantities, and they could be smaller. Unusual texture, similar to a batter during pounding sugar. Many refer to a sticky and viscous texture, but I have no problems with it. A gorgeous jar of heavy glass, as it is supposed to be in a decadent bathroom product. The spoon I never used, I think it a useless thing. You can use the scrub every day or every 2-3 days in case of sensitive skin. The useful ingredients are vitamins A and E, grape and olive oil. Actually, there area a lot of good herbal ingredients in the formula. I do not exclude that I’ll buy it again, despite the high price.

Crème Brûlée Eau de Toilette / Crème Brûlée Eau Gourmande

Well, this water is much loved by many, you almost can not find bad reviews. As for me, I’m slightly disappointed. It starts with a wonderful aroma, very similar to scrub! Yet, while contact with scrub lasts only a couple of minutes, you do expect some more building of a relationship with a perfume. So, the start is bright and liqueur-ish. Many people on the internet, who were expecting a pure caramel and vanilla, were disappointed by this liqueur tint, but I really do like it very much! I personally do not drink liquor, but the scent I adore. My husband regularly has Baileys and Tia Maria with coffee. And then it just gets boring. A plain candy from the skin of the hands of a child who just ate it and smeared all over. No power, no longevity, no depth at all. If the perfume doesn’t like you, it may sound like burnt sugar. I also noted musk in it in amounts more than I like in such scent. There is a tiny hint of leather. There is some disagreement – it’s written on the box EdP, and on the website — EdT. Although it is not important. The eau is really quite weak. So pour it loose – don’t be afraid! You’ll smell like ice cream and liqueur and a little mimosa (although the last might be just my imagination), but not for long. If you like – put some scent on you scarf, as on fabric, so it lingers much longer than on skin. Notes include: warm caramel, spun sugar, French vanilla, white musk.

Scrub is an absolute champion for me from this product line. Another curious one to try would be a body cream Crème Brûlée Soufflé Body Crème, looks like it should be very tasty 🙂
