Oil on paper
Alla prima portrait in oil on paper using minimum colors to imitate old photograph effect. When my little daughter saw this, she said “Oh I get it, you’re painting it like it is a long time ago”. The asphalt colour was widespread in the 19th century, a translucent, deep brown which is able to show through colour layers. In this work you can see the interesting black-to-brown move of this paint, depending on placement.
